LAMINATED GLASS

Vitrum Industries is proud to offer the latest in laminated glass technology.  With a brand new state-of-the-art lamination line Vitrum is able to offer laminated glass in sizes up to 102" x 194", making it the first and only glass fabricator in the Pacific Northwest to offer such a product.

Through the use of this brand-new fully automated lamination line Vitrum is able to provide our customers outstanding quality, lead times and options that were never before possible in laminated glass.

Choosing the safety, security and serenity of laminated glass no longer means limiting yourself in regards to glass type, colour, and thickness. Vitrum laminated glass is available in all glass types, including clear, tinted, reflective, low-e, spandrel, ceramic frit and silk-screened. While providing an unlimited selection of interlayer colours and opacities, creating an endless spectrum of options that will meet both performance and design expectations.

Applications

If glass breakage presents a hazard or liability to persons below or within the building, laminated glass provides the solution. If breakage occurs, laminated glass will remain within the glazing structure as the PVB interlayer holds the hazards shards in place and out of harm’s way.

Standard laminate thickness can typically be accommodated in conventional glass frames. Vitrum is now able to fabricate laminated glass using clear, tinted, reflective, low-e, spandrel or silk-screened glass in either annealed, heat-strengthened, or tempered forms. This laminated glass can then be used in either a single or dual-glazed system where the laminated lites are then placed into either one or both of the glass positions.

Insulated Glass Units

Insulating units can use laminated lites in either glazing positions (#1 or #2) however for optimum safety of both building occupants and those outside, the use of double laminated units should be considered.

Overhead Glazing

Overhead glazing includes all glass that is positioned over a space that may be occupied by humans. Building codes prescribe laminated glass for the single lite of monolithic glazing’s or on the inboard lite of the insulated glass unit to protect buildings occupants from the dangers of falling glass.

Glass Floors

Laminated glass floors (walking surfaces, landings, stairwells and other locations) can provide architects and building designer a unique and esthetically interesting construction material to work with. Load calculations and other considerations for glass floors can be found in local building codes.

Sound Control

Airplanes, construction noise, traffic, honking horns, amplified music, barking dogs… Outdoors noises can quickly become excessive and intrusive when they make their way into your home or workplace. Vitrum’s solution to the continuing rise in noise pollution is our exclusive SonciGuardTM laminate glass. Utilizing a UV cured acoustical resin perceived noise levels can be reduced by up to 50% creating a quieter and more pleasant home or work environment.  For more information about SonicGuardTMclick here.
